Hello, friends.
There are so many issues we can dedicate ourselves towards, and all of them are worthy of our attention. And an activist’s work is never done. We may as well say that a citizen’s work is never done in a progressive society.
In
recent months I have chosen three issues to focus my attention upon.
One of them is global in impact (stopping
the militarization of space).
One of them is national is scope (voter
rights and the 2000 election),
and one of them is taking place in my immediate
backyard (opposing more power plants in “Asthma
Alley”).
I spend time thinking about the connectedness of all three issues in a
“community” sense, and what “community” means.
I invite you to join me and community activists for an evening of issues and entertainment as we acknowledge and celebrate individuals, organizations and community in our lives.
In addition to the music and guest artists, representatives speaking to the evening’s issues will let you know how to join them in the work they are doing.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
Take
care.
Be well.
Stay strong!
