The planes
that struck at this country September 11th struck all of humanity. This
country's greatest civilian tragedy occurred in New York City, the diversity
capital of the world. The great horror is that so many lives were lost and
so many families were torn apart. It is the diversity of our people that
makes this tragedy an international event. Therein lies the great hope,
and perhaps our salvation. That everyone from everywhere can
deeply feel the pain caused by hatred, perhaps we will not let hatred rule our
hearts, hands, minds, country and world. Let us seek justice, but not at
the expense of innocent lives. Let us work together, but not in the name
of revenge. Let us have freedom in this land, but not at the cost of
crushing pain anywhere else. Let us heal the hurt in our minds, in our
hearts and in our souls. Let us find strength to comfort each other, but
not with calls for war. And let us understand that no God approves of war.
There are no Holy Wars and no human beings are capable of Infinite Justice.
And let us remember and understand that the energy we create as a people and put
out into the world comes back to us as our future. Peace. Love.
Understanding. Joel
