Folk Music Concert in Kingston, NY - July 4
Looking to get out of the city for July 4th? Want to be in the clean green fresh air of upstate New York?
Wanna hear some good modern folk music? Well, we've got just the recipe for you!
Come to Kingston, New York on Sunday, July 4th, for a day of music, magic and fireworks. And it's free! On Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the TR Gallo Memorial Park in Kingston, on the bank of the Rondout River, AJ Weberman, renowned Dylanologist (and original Dylan garbologist) will be hosting The Rolling Thunder-Byrd Review, featuring Jay Byrd and his band of blue jays.
The free concert of folk-rock, blues, country and rock & roll music runs from 7-9pm Sunday evening of July 4th. The New York City-based performers are: Jay Byrd, songwriter/guitarist; Buddy Greco, harmonicist; Bob Lepre, percussionist extraordinaire; Peter Pasco, guitarist/songwriter; and Carlos Vasquez, bass guitarist. There will be special guest appearances by: Joel Landy, (Host of Manhattan cable's "Songs of Freedom") songwriter/guitarist; Lisa Roma, singer/songwriter/guitarist; Takako Nagumo, singer/songstylist; and, Leigh Harrison, singer/songwriter. Many of these artists have CD's available, which will be available for purchase.
Kingston is a lovely town with wonderful shops and fine restaurants, a great place to spend a lovely summer holiday weekend, dine by the river, enjoy an evening concert or go strolling in the country air. The TR Gallo Memorial Park was formerly known as the West Strand Park. There will be a glittering fireworks display after dark.

Drive North to Exit 19, Kingston. Get off and go part way around the circle to Colonel Chandler Drive. Go past the first light, until you're on Broadway. Drive straight for 3 miles and you are there. Please use the Kingston Municipal Parking Lot on your left.
